hey! look at me if you want to improve your art!!!

So I recently found this artist who described in detail what she learned in art college and how you really shouldn't go to art college.

ghostbri.tumblr.com/post/15096…

honestly I hold the same belief, it doesn't get you a job and it costs a butt-ton of money in the process where as you could learn the same stuff at the same level for MUCH cheaper at local art classes etc. (by much cheaper I mean around 200+ but that's still SUPER nice compared to the prices of colleges OwO )

also side note from me, the peanut gallery \o/ if you want to help cement your art style, I would adopt the "fake it till you make it" method c:

basically take 3 of your most FAV artists styles and break down what you like most of them ie: broken lines, lineart, form, color, ideas, perspective, etc.
it can even be multiple or everything, it's up to you.

and then just start replicating their styles and after awhile yours will start to develop into what you want essentially.

I've been doing the same with my formula of:
pidgeon666 + Tetsuya Nomura + Amano/miyazaki < (I mesh them together because of the ideas they create are similar in their ideals if that makes sense)

and I've been just practicing with colors from pidgeon's works and how they do lines is already similar to how I used to lineart (traditionally).

but yeah! I hope this helps you too, since I've only been doing this for a while, I can't say whether how long it takes but I do know that it's working c: (at least for me ^^;
